  My son and I had a FANTASTIC day fishing with Austin, our FRA guide. Austin is very knowledgeable (fly fishing since he was 8) and was excellent as a guide. He worked with us together and individually to improve our gear prep, casting techniques, and fish locating skills. We caught so many trout during our day with Austin I lost count. Great fun. Wonderful memories.

  I went into FRA for the first time this week to pick up a new reel and line. When I arrived, guy at the counter was terse with me. Odd experience as I always go into a new fly shop looking for conversation and advice and they were very slow on a Wednesday afternoon. I wanted a click pawl and line for a new rod I recently acquired and was deferred to someone else. The guy that helped me in the end was very helpful, but I was put off by the initial interaction. Having had a 50/50 experience, I was curious to see what the fishing report would be as I plan to fish SBC in the morning. Just called and was told they have no information. Giving 3 stars instead of 2 as I’ve heard very good things about FRA, but I’m giving the benefit of the doubt at this point as 2 out of 3 of my interactions have been negative.

  Have used Front Range Anglers over the last couple of years and I have to say that they are top notch! Antonio is probably hands down one of the best guides you are going to find in Colorado or any other place for that matter! He is without a doubt the hardest working guide I have ever had and if he thinks the fish are somewhere else then that is where you go! The shop has one of the best selections of equipment around with a very knowledgeable staff to help you with all your needs. I live in Virginia and this has become my "Go to" shop for all my needs.
